BBC Wimbledon 2001 Press Pack

This CD-ROM presentation showcases the BBC's unprecedented multi-screen product, which provides all the advantages of a courtside seat. The innovative Wimbledon service offers five live video streams, allowing Digital Satellite (Sky) viewers to select from, or view, five matches at once. Moreover, they enjoy the benefits of live commentary and dynamically updated scores.

The CD-ROM menu mirrors the multi-screen layout of the BBC's interactive service, presenting the information as a choice of five separate channels. The CD provides a simulated journey through the service's interactive capabilities. Users can download photographic stills, doing away with the need to request images from an outside source.  Press releases reporting coverage by several BBC news services are available on-screen and via downloadable PDF files.

The CD-ROM, which is Mac and PC compatible, is aimed at both UK and international media agencies. Coverage of the two-week tournament is exclusive to the BBC, making the interactive press kit a key resource for Wimbledon journalists.
