Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS)
Intranet
Style Guide
The purpose of the new intranet structure at both a local and group level was to help TNS operate more effectively as a global organisation, rather than a set of separate organisations. The intranet was to serve as a tool for communication as well as providing business tools.
However, there will always be local variations as a result of both commercial and cultural reasons and the design was intended to try and accommodate both requirements.
A degree of uniformity was needed between all the local sites, so that information can be managed more easily at a global level, and rolled out to each of the local sites. It also facilitates better working practices between local sites, if they are all working on similar platforms.
The purpose of the structure and accompanying guidelines, was not to restrict or hinder local intranet managers from displaying the content relevant to their local audience. By following the guidance, the local sites will develop in a consistent approach.
