Defensive Driving

Defensive Driving is understood to be 'safe' driving, which 'defends against accidents'. It depends upon a driver attitude, which is alert to potential hazards and is committed to actions, ensuring these hazards do not lead to accidents or near misses.

Commissioned by the Shell Film and Video Unit, this computer based training programme encourages users to develop a defensive driving attitude by actively participating in a tutorial and 20 simulated drives, based upon common road hazards. The programme uses MPEG or AVI video and has been re-versioned in multiple formats and languages for use around the world.
