Who are we?


After 16 years, we still struggle describing ourselves to clients who are used to conventions such as agency, consultancy or production company. Whilst we overlap all of these, none really sums up our proposition.

Way back in 1992, when Fifth Dimension came kicking and screaming into the world, the buzzword of the time was “multimedia” – and it was our goal to be specialists in its delivery. Many years on, we’ve seen different terms and technologies come and go, but our goal has remained the same: to deliver interactive communications through digital media.

Prior to Fifth Dimension, the study of both Visual Design and Computer Programming by founder Phil Campbell seemed a somewhat random and mismatched combination. Ask him today, and he’ll adamantly claim it was a visionary decision! Whatever the story, it’s a unique combination that has remained a cornerstone of the company, enabling us to combine creativity and technical excellence, compromising neither.

Our team consists of experts in their own fields with an appreciation for the skills of their colleagues. The great mass of experience under our belts is reflected in the great mass developing over our belts – evidence of a decade and a half of angst, toil and unhealthy living, battling to deliver projects to unreasonable deadlines using unfathomable technology. We emerge stronger and wiser from each experience and we’re proud to be where we are, with so many of the team that has grown with us.

Clients. How much easier our business would be without them – though far less rewarding, and not simply in the financial sense. It is a direct consequence of the demands and expectations that clients place upon us pushes us beyond our limits. Although we still search for those elusive clients loose and free with their purchase orders, deep down we thrive on the challenge, the energy it creates being the catalyst for some of our finest achievements.

We look back with fondness, and a smudge of Vaseline® (on the lens), at what we’ve created over the years and the great body of work that exists today. We’re unashamedly proud of our accomplishments, confident in our ability, humble in our attitude, and excited by how much there still is to be done.
